Ascension Church

Food Shelf

One of the customs at Church of the Ascension is to collect food and money for our small food shelf every Sunday at 9:30 mass.

Our Food Shelf ministry helps people in need in many ways:

  • The parish office distributes a limited number of bags of groceries on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are not an official food shelf but can be a resource for some in need. Grocery bags are also available after mass once a month. Ascension distributes between 125 and 130 bags of groceries each month.
  • Donated baked goods are distributed after the Sunday morning masses on a weekly basis.
  • Donations from Christ the King parish help buy grocery store gift cards distributed to those in need.  Seasonally, vouchers for fresh produce from the Broadway Farmers Market also are available.
