Sacramental preparation

  • Rite of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion: Classes are for all students grade 2 and up who have not yet received these sacraments.  This is a parent/child program with parts of the work completed at home. Parents and children from all the parishes come together on six Saturday mornings to reiterate the messages learned at home.  Reconciliation classes begin in January; the sacrament is celebrated in late February. First Communion classes begin in March, with the sacrament in late April or May.
  • Confirmation: For students in grade 10 or above, classes are on Wednesday evenings at Our Lady of Victory convent. The program begins in November with weekly classes. From May through August, the class meets monthly, then resumes weekly sessions in the following September. Confirmation is celebrated in October or November.

For more information, call Mary Majkozak at 612 521-7454.

Bible Study Group for Adults

A Bible study group meets every Wednesday night on the same schedule as Youth Faith Formation classes. For more information, call Mary Majkozak at 612 521-7454.

RCIA

Interested in becoming Catholic? Baptized Catholic but wanting to deepen your commitment through First Communion and Confirmation? A volunteer sponsor from the parish will journey with you as you learn more about the Catholic tradition and faith.

The rite of Christian initiation of adults is a process that assists those with no faith background, those with another faith experience and those not fully initiated into the Catholic faith to learn about the traditions and teachings of our church. The classes provide faith development in large- and small-group settings.

Call Mary Majkozak for more information, 612 521-7454.

Grupo de Mujeres

Our weekly community group for Latina women focuses on spiritual, emotional and social support and development through education and formation activities, opportunities for service and attention to physical health. Meetings are conducted in Spanish.

Vacation Bible School

Ascension’s week-long Bible school for elementary age children takes place at the beginning of August.  Participants are taught Bible themes with fun activities, including games and crafts.
