Members of our sister parishes donate their time, talent and financial assistance to Ascension parish and school.
The Basilica has been a partner with Ascension for many years. The parishes collaborate on monthly Peace Dinners, the annual Neighborhood Night of Peace, Our Lady of Guadalupe Liturgy, and the Basilica Choir Camp, which is held each summer at Ascension. In addition, many Basilica parishioners volunteer at Ascension School. The parish also holds an annual second collection and a golf tournament to benefit the school.

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community has been a long-time supporter of Ascension parish and school. The parish puts on an annual St. Patrick’s Day Party, which is a major element of this support. It has raised nearly $2 million since it began.

The South Minneapolis parish has partnered with Ascension on providing contributions for our food shelf program. Christ the King parishioners bring nonperishable foods to Mass the first weekend of every month. They are then transported to Ascension, where they are given to those in need on the Northside. Cash donations are used to provide grocery store gift cards and vouchers for fresh vegetables, in season, from the Broadway Farmers’ Market. This associated started with St. Phillip’s parish, and became part of Ascension’s ministry after the parishes merged.
