Families will begin moving into Emerson Village in November. The building, on 18th and Emerson Aves. N., will provide 40 high-quality apartment homes for families whose annual income is less than $30,000. It will offer individualized, on-site support services for residents.
Emerson Village is a project of the Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative. Beacon is made up of congregations — including Ascension — that advance equitable housing policy, provide funding for supportive services, and support the creation of new, deeply affordable homes.
Our new neighbors will need household items as they settle into their new homes. Member congregations are collecting items, and Ascension is pitching in by providing some Laundry/Bath Baskets.
Here’s how to help.
Shop for the following items:
ο 2 laundry baskets
ο 2 bath mats
ο Facial tissue
ο Toilet paper
ο Wet wipes
ο paper towels
ο Bath towels
ο 2 shower curtains with hooks
ο Laundry detergent
ο Dryer sheets
Bring them to mass on Oct. 20 or 27. You can buy all or some. Members of our Social Justice Group will put the baskets together and deliver them.
Let’s help welcome our new neighbors to the area! Questions? Contact Judy at the Parish Office.
